Psalms 16.11 – You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me wih joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
David- a man after God’s own heart knew where his treasures lay- or treasures lie? – ha. Even in the midst of prosperity, he tells God… you made known to me the path of life.
It’s amazing just how much might be in that statement, Life wasn’t what David thought it was, or what I thought it was. I imagine him thinking- Life was awesome, I’ve had so much, been over the whole country, had more women then I knew what to do with, had more things, all the toys one could ever imagine. And what did I find? That – You made known to me the pathway to life. You can work with me through my prosperity and pain, my failings, and give me eternal pleasures, joy with you, and the path to life.
You are God. I thank and praise You today for this revelation and ask for more today. Remind me in the midst of the desert what the mountain top looks like and sustain me today. Be my strength and my portion. Be always before me. Ex. 14.14
7 “Two things I ask of you, O LORD;
do not refuse me before I die:
8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.
9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
and say, ‘Who is the LORD ?’
Or I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonor the name of my God.
