My eyes have seen all that the Lord has done to bring this union together, and I have witnessed the glory of the Lord. [With my own eyes i have seen the great trials and the miraculous signs and great wonders.] Deuteronomy 29.3
I am again amazed, and stand in awe at the awesomeness of our Saviour.
Deuteronomy 29.29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.
From you two meeting at Bobby’s “re-baptism”, i call it baptism. To the first drink of coffee together, i watched you walk the desert, i have seen this relationship grow and develop, and i have been and am blessed to see you come together as one, but more so to call you my friends.
We have fought the good fight, we have been to the battle. I am so proud to stand with you two on this day. SO PROUD.
I Corinthians 10.3-5a
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God.
The knowledge of God is this… Christ died for sins once for all the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God, He was put to death in the body, but made alive by the spirit. I Peter 3.18
We knew God was in this, so we prayed for Stacie for seasons upon seasons, we have prayed for this day for so long, and have been brought to this day to celebrate the lives of our dear, beloved friends. So again, I pray:
May you be blessed:
Deuteronomy 6.4-9 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
I pray you will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. Blessed when you go out, and when you come in, that you will be always at the top and never the bottom, that The Lord will make you the head and not the tail. I pray that the Lord in His abundant prosperity will bless the fruit of your womb, the calves of your livestock and the yield of your fields. -these things translate, in some way- I pray that you will remember the Lord, that He will be always in your heart and on your tongue, that he will guide your steps and walks, as you seek His heart and to follow in His ways. The Lord will set you high above. You Bobby and Stacie are called to a higher calling, a beautiful walk, God will be with you.
I pray the Lord will send a blessing to your barns, and to everything you put your hand to.
I pray the Lord will continue establishing you as His people, and that your name will be known and praised for generations to come.
Bobby- you have married a great woman in Stacie. As was stated last night, and we’ve said for years, her reputation goes before her. Trust God to let the roses bloom. She is a blessing to me, to know that you have her as your wife, treat her as such.
May your aim be always straight and your arrow true.
“May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back
The sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.” -irish blessing.
Stacie- you have a wonderful man in Bobby, a trusted confidant, a faithful friend, a hard worker, with a wonderful heart to bring glory to God. And this you will do. I know he is a good man, one of the finest i have ever known. What a wonderful God we serve to watch you wait for this man, and to see the fulfillment of His promise to you. May your love for him never die.
” ‘ “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.” ‘
Though many may attribute the goodness of yourselves as people, and the warmth of your hearts to your wonderful parents. I know that it is Christ in you that makes these things possible, and I know that just he has begun a good work in you two, that He will carry it on to completion until the day of our Lord.
Today I praise God to be able to say, be blessed, Bobby and Stacie Rodriguez.
Deuteronomy 30.19-20 This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Most of the blessing was pulled from Deuteronomy 28-30.
Blessings for Obedience
1 If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:
3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.
6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.
7 The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.
8 The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
9 The LORD will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the LORD your God and walk in his ways. 10 Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will fear you. 11 The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your forefathers to give you.
12 The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. 13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. 14 Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.
